At 651media, our mission is to tell compelling stories through video. Beyond that, an important part of our mission is to be a socially responsible organization. Here are a couple ways in which we try to accomplish that charge:
The word “render” has two meanings. First, “render,” as represented by ⌘+R (a keyboard shortcut in Final Cut Pro) refers to preparing a video for its final output. Second, “render” means “to provide or give.” This definition reflects our commitment to supporting meaningful causes.
We are committed to donating a percentage of our operating profits back to our non-profit partners on every project we complete for them. For our for-profit clients, a donation will be made in the company’s name to either Suicide Awareness Voices of Education (SAVE) or the Minnesota Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) Center, two charities that are important to 651media.
Moving Toward Zero Waste
It’s also important to us to be environmentally responsible in the choices we make when it comes to the equipment that we purchase and the way we dispose of the things that we’ve used. We are committed to recycling waste and using equipment with an extended shelf-life, so that it will be used long after we are done with it. While we have not yet reached full “zero waste” status, we are consciously working towards that end and try to find partners that share this goal.
