Cool Jobs: Local Rock Stars

Cool Jobs: Local Rock Star from 651media on Vimeo.

In this episode of “Cool Jobs,” Chris tags along with Twin Cities-based Americana/Folk band Romantica during a show at Barbette in Uptown Minneapolis. Romantica’s newest music video for “The National Side” was recently produced by Ryan Newman of Rukus Film, and can be viewed here: http://vimeo.com/2225104.
You can listen to Romantica (Chris’ favorite local band) on iTunes, or on their website, www.romanticamusic.com.
Enjoy!

Cool Jobs: Minnesota Twins Organist

Sorry, it’s been a while. We’ve been pretty busy with video and life. Here is a “Cool Jobs” episode from September featuring Sue Nelson, the organist for the Minnesota Twins. The video is simple…we just let Sue carry the story.

Process is poetry

Truth be told, I try to avoid “process” as often as possible. I find that what happens naturally often produces the best result.

Of course, that all changes when there is a deadline.

Right now, we’re working on a safety video for a local company. While the timeline isn’t totally fleshed out, we want to make sure we don’t take any chances that might cause us to delay delivery of the final product. So, last night we spent an hour or two writing an outline for our shoot and developing a shot list that contains every conceivable shot that would correspond to the outline.

It’s a little bit of process that ensures that we won’t be re-shooting when we should be in post-production.

651media video to be featured on KSTP-TV

Last month we produced an episode of “Cool Jobs” for downtownjournal.com featuring the Magical History Tour in Minneapolis. Tomorrow (Thursday, July 24th), the folks from the tour’s parent company, Mobile Entertainment, will appear on KSTP-TV’s “Twin Cities Live” program between 3 and 4pm. 651media has provided video of the tour to be used in the segment…so if you aren’t busy (or are looking for an alternative to Dr. Phil) flip on over to channel five and check it out.

Cool Jobs: Superhero Pizza Deliverer

If you are reading this while sitting at a cubicle wishing you were doing anything else, or maybe you don’t think your job allows you to be as creative as you wish, this video may be for you.

For the second episode of “Cool Jobs” (which will appear on www.swjournal.com), I followed around the superhero pizza deliverers (such as General Statement and the Blue Baboon) at Galactic Pizza in the Uptown-area of Minneapolis.

Galactic donates 5% of pre-tax profits to charity, and $1 for each cheese pizza sold to Second Harvest, and is fueled by 100% wind power. Even the cars run on wind-powered electricity.

So with the help of videographer Debby Moe and Twin Cities-based band “The Umbrella Sequence”…here’s the next episode of “Cool Jobs.”

Cool Jobs: Superhero Pizza Delivery Guy/Gal

We will be shooting the second segment of “Cool Jobs,” a monthly video segment we are producing for downtownjournal.com and swjournal.com. The first episode “Cool Jobs: Segway Tour Guide” can be viewed here

This episode will feature Galactic Pizza in the Uptown area of Minneapolis. Galactic’s delivery folks dress as superheroes and drive little electric cars. They use hemp as an ingredient and wind power for electricity. Should be fun.

Debby Moe, who works for A&E’s “The First 48″ will be shooting this segment for us once again.
